There's a video circulating online about an F-35 being struck somewhere over Iran. The video shows an EO/IR feed of a launcher with a missile hitting the aircraft.
Normally, I'd be skeptical of the claims, but at the same time there was a report on the media of an F-35 "hit by enemy fire" and making an emergency landing. So it's pretty much confirmed an F-35 was hit.
The memes are inevitable.
It's not even the fourth month of 2026 yet and we already got Crni Bombarder 2 before we got GTA6
an underdiscussed fact of the war is that before the strikes began, the revolutionary guard was dealing with quite a bit of dissent among its ranks that would have most likely toppled the ayatollah's rule within the next like 3 years by itself, had things taken their natural course
unfortunately for america and israel, going "we will kill you, we will kill everyone you know, we will torch your culture, level your houses, and rape your children" is very effective at making your average fulan al-fulani in the irgc put the whole mutinying thing on the backburner and march in lockstep with their brothers-in-arms to deal with the much more immediate threat

Trump wishes he had this rally 'round the flag situation back in the US.
A major problem I have with the modern left is the whole "being angry and bitter all the time" can make them act as insufferable and assholish as the far right even if far less morally bankrupt.
Maybe tone down the spitefullness a bit….

It's incredible how the US could have resolved the Iran debacle by just sitting back and doing nothing for a few more years. Unfortunately, when they say "anything to distract from the Epstein files," they really mean ANYTHING.

no, i'd say "the iran war is a distraction from the epstein files" is a pretty big oversimplification, it's more like a combination of:
1. israel was going to attack iran no matter what, because they're aware of the massive shift in public opinion away from them over in america, and saw this as their last chance to get away with what they want before the midterms usher in a tidal wave of anti-zionist congresspeople
2. trump knew that leaving israel out to dry after an entire year of being like "ooh iran's gonna get it" would be the taco moment to end all taco moments, and his ego couldn't allow that to happen
3. united states secretary of defense and/or war pete hegseth is an insane evangelical doomsday cultist who genuinely wants to bring about the biblical apocalypse
4. ehud barak could release the trump portion of his personal spank bank any day of the week, and have men with "sunglasses selfie in car" facebook profile pictures storming mar-a-lago like it's the fucking bastille
one of my more controversial political opinions is that "taxation is theft" sentiment is a civilizationally ruinous piece of epsteinite slopulism whose purpose is to create a permission structure for gutting governments into non-functionality so that billionaires can watch a number go up
and frankly, at this point, the choice is between "higher taxes" and "your children dying in the water wars" and the sooner we accept that, the sooner humanity can correct course from the global death spiral we're on

Not to radical of an opinion IMO.
The mindset is propagated by perceived lack of representation. Sometimes the government does tax you too much (for example, Americans pay for healthcare through taxes, yet still have to pay thousands for an ambulance) or individuals are too dumb to realize how much of society runs on taxes (for example, libertarians, republicans, anarcho-capitalists).

The problem isn't that there aren't taxes. Rather the problem is that the ultra wealthy rarely get taxed if at all and when they do it's a pathetic amount. Meanwhile the proles are forced to pay higher taxes. Since the current establishment expects them to fill in the bills and not the ultra wealthy.
Like what TerribleTrike there is such thing is "too much taxes" and I would also governments can still horribly mismanage tax money on stupid shit such as pointless vanity projects.
It would make more sense for the proles to get lower taxes if not full on tax cuts while increasing the tax rates for the ultra wealthy and if they begin to whinge about it. We can question their loyalties to the nation if not accuse them of being unpatriotic if not complete traitors to the nation in the name of greed/egotism. And no wealthoids accusations of us of being "socialist" or "communist" is going to change our attitudes. If you want to be a billionaire, you need to prove to the rest of us that you can be trusted with that amount of money without being A: complacent/lazy/slothful, B: A complete Degenerate, C: Power-hungry sociopath, and D: a Traitor and even actually being allowed to be a billionaire should always be an extreme exception, not the rule.

the problem is that very few people in office right now actually have the balls to just come out and say "tax the poor less, tax the rich more" and mean it. 9 times out of 10 "tax the poor less" is just weasel words to get people to vote for "tax the rich even less than that", and the idea of "taxation always bad" is ultimately what enables that tactic
and yes, it is 100% possible to make people accept being taxed more if they can actually see those taxes go towards materially improving their own lives. the fact that mamdani's tax hikes have basically not impacted his popularity in the slightest is proof that "higher taxes, but all the city's potholes get filled" is a significantly more acceptable tradeoff than "higher taxes, but raytheon execs can launder more money" or "higher taxes, but the idf gets to defensively vaporize more toddlers"
If this Trump nightmare ever ends
I need to remind everyone, especially centrists…
To stop voting for X purely out of spite and/or contrarianism, its like the reason we are stuck with this racist pedophile in the first place.
The world is in the state it is right now because we have all been acting like immature edgy 4channers
Like yeah ok sure you sure did stick it to those smug twitter libs but like….look at the horrible pedophilic mess we are stuck in now!

Every day just confirms my theory that the SJW's were right, Say what you want about them being annoying they were still trying to make the world a better place meanwhile now we have people whose entire ethos is to make the world suck just because it's funny. Tumblr was right and 4 Chan should have never been created.

I need to remind everyone, especially people who come up with "stop voting for X" arguments…
If your only choices for dinner are a bowl of fresh dog excrement and bowl of rancid dog excrement, the question you should be asking isn't why others didn't vote for the fresh bowl instead.
Either fix your damn uniparty "democracy" or stop this charade of trying to dodge responsibility by blaming "the other side" for these systemic shortcomings.

There's one quote from Zizek that sum this up perfectly
"I am already eating from the trashcan all the time… and that trashcan is Ideology"

The other side is not at fault for all systemic shortcomings, but considering the other side is the satan-worshipping baby-rape death cult, it's kind of hard not to point at them for most issues, seeing as they cause most of them.
